On 8 November, the United Nations Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide, Mr. Adama Dieng, and the United Nations Special Adviser on the Responsibility to Protect, Ms. Karen Smith, released a joint statement welcoming the ICC sentence against Bosco Ntaganda for atrocity crimes committed in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
