On Thursday, September 17 2015, Adama Dieng, Special Adviser of the Secretary-General on the Prevention of Genocide, and Jennifer Welsh, Special Adviser of the Secretary-General on the Responsibility to Protect, released a statement which called for the establishment of credible accountability and reconciliation mechanisms for Sri Lanka.
