Coalition member, the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies, published a report on the use of artificial intelligence in social media regulation. As more states look towards imposing regulations on social media companies and platforms, the debate over content removal straddles that of it being prevention of hate speech, but also as a tool for documenting evidence and justice in cases of rights abuses. The report calls on the tech industry and policy makers to narrow the gap between policy, research, and using artificial intelligence as a tool for the protection and promotion of human rights and social good.
