Abi Allam: The woman is a partner in the peace

The following statement was released from the Permanent Peace Movement (PPM) (Lebanon, Beirut) in relation to a speech given by PPM Chairman Fadi Abi Allam during a seminar on women’s right to political participation in the peace building organized by the Office of Women’s Affairs in the Amal Movement:
Abi Allam said, during his speech, that women are the most affected by war and involved the largest bringing peace, pointing out that victims of the majority of conflicts in the world after the Second World War were women and children, hence the importance of women, is to be proactive to contribute to conflict resolution and peace-building. He invited on women to be a full partner in building the future, and not only being confined to its role in receiving calamities as they are the most affected during the wars.
