Danish Parliament
17 May

Parliamentarians for Global Action, Denmark and ICRtoP member UNA Denmark organized a meeting on 17 May in the Danish Parliament entitled “Denmark and the UN’s principle on ‘Responsibility to Protect’ (R2P) How do we live up to our responsibility to deliver international protection’? The meeting was made possible by funding from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Denmark.

The meeting provided an opportunity for Academics, Editor of Politiken, Minister and Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, parliamentarians and NGOs to present views and engage in a dialogue on how to consider the use of R2P, its consequence, and the ramification of the situation in Libya. Participants also discussed Denmark’s perspective and engagement on R2P.

ICRtoP Marion Arnaud was invited to present the international civil society’s view on the development and use of R2P. See speech here
