International Coalition for the Responsibility to Protect

We would like to officially welcome to the Coalition our first Canada-based member, the Canadian Lawyers for International Human Rights (CLAIHR).

They are a non-profit NGO established to promote human rights globally through legal education, advocacy and law reform. They take part in the following:
  • analyzing laws, institutions and practices affecting human rights;
  • contributing to developing and strengthening laws and institutions that protect human rights;
  • promoting awareness of human rights issues within the legal community;
  • supporting lawyers, legal organizations and others dedicated to achieving human rights.
We look forward to working with them.

As we aim to diversify and expand our membership and are reaching out to new regions, we encourage groups working on related issues to join us in promoting RtoP in their country or region. See our page for details at:
